Cecily strong

  Cecily Legler Strong (born February 8, 1984) is an American actor, comedian as well as a producer and singer. Strong is most well-known for her part as an Saturday Night Live cast member from 2012 to 2022. She's also the longest-running woman on the show's previous. Strong was hired for SNL when she was performing improv in The Second City in Chicago and then moved to Los Angeles after graduating from CalArts. She is currently the star of the Apple TV+ musical comedy program Schmigadoon! She is also co-producing the show (2021-2024).



 



 Other roles she's been in including voice acting in The Awesomes (2013-2015), as well as supporting roles in films such as Ghostbusters, The Meddler and The Female Brain. In 2015, she hosted the White House Correspondents' Dinner. Her first book, This Will All End Soon Soon It was published by Random House in 2021.



 



 The show was nominated by Primetime Emmy Awards at the 72nd and 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards as Outstanding Supporting Artist in the Comedy Series for her work on Saturday Night Live.



 



 Early life



 Strong was born and was raised in Springfield, Illinois. She is the daughter of Penelope Strong and William Strong. Strong was the director of the Associated Press bureau and also ran his own PR firm until 2013. Penny Legler Strong, a nurse practitioner who worked extensively in area hospitals has retired. Strong's parents are divorced. Strong was fascinated by SNL from an early age. She enjoyed doing sketches with a pal as well as watching the old SNL commercials via VHS. "I had an old tape with the best commercials, and I wore it all day long." She's said she was inspired by Phil Hartman.
